Before the Bible message “Opposition!” on 31st January, Andrew used this chart to help explain the historical background.


Don’t worry if you struggle with history/dates/name of kings, you will still be able to grasp the basic message of these chapters.


Chapters 1 to 6 cover the period up to 516BC, and the work done during the reigns of King Cyrus and King Darius.


There is then a gap: the book of Esther takes place during the reign of King Ahasuerus.


Then chapters 7-10 of Ezra take place during the reign of King Artaxerxes.
